Woodchurch Ancestry Group
The Woodchurch Ancestry Group (WAG) is an online group open to anyone interested in Woodchurch history and/or families. It is completely free of charge. If you would like to join, please go to http://woodchurch.hollyer.name/, click on ‘mailing list’, then follow the instructions onscreen.
Once you have joined, send a message to the list to introduce yourself and to let us know the names of the families and any particular subjects of interest.
We have over a hundred members, some in Woodchurch, some in other parts of Kent and the UK, and the rest abroad. Many contribute regularly to the list and will be happy to help by sharing details of their own research or by suggesting other avenues to try if you’ve hit a brick wall.
The group has a free to use website which lists transcriptions of Woodchurch records, including baptisms, marriages, burials, census returns and many others at http://www.goldbern.co.uk/woodchurch .
The Steering Group of the Woodchurch Ancestry Group consists of nine members, all from Kent or Sussex. They have so far put on two exhibitions of local and family history in Woodchurch Memorial Hall and are hosting an exhibition "Leaving Woodchurch" on Saturday 16th July 2011.

WAG produced a booklet ‘Woodchurch in 1871’ in mid-2008. News of these events and details of new transcriptions added to the WAG website are sent to members through the mailing list.
